Scholarship System

In TOHO GAKUEN, we have our own scholarship system to support students who aim to work in the entertainment field.We provide scholarships which you can use at the time of enrollment or after enrollment.Please check the detail in the 2018 admission guideline (for international students).

Scholarships issued when enrolling

Special TOHO GAKUEN overseas study system

Scholarship will be given to students based on the comprehensive score on the score of admission exam for our school and attendance of Japanese language school. Special Toho Gakuen overseas study system
Scholarship:At the time of enrollment procedure, a portion of the tuition fee for the first semester for a new student will be exempted. (JPY150,000)

TOHO GAKUEN alumni's children scholarship system

System whereby children of graduates of the school are exempted from half of the enrollment fee if they enroll. Acceptance is decided based on application from the person himself or graduate of the school.
Scholarship: Half enrollment fee exemption for enrollment procedure
※Please consult with school counselor before submitting application. An “Alumni Child Admissions Application” must be submitted when applying.

TOHO graduate / enrolled student / sibling scholarship system

System whereby graduates or currently enrolled students who are exempted from half of the enrollment fee if they enroll. Acceptance is decided based on application from the person himself or graduate / currently enrolled student. Siblings who enroll in the same year may also apply for the scholarship.
Scholarship: Half enrollment fee exemption for enrollment procedure
※Please consult with school counselor before submitting application. A “Sibling Admissions Application” must be submitted when applying.

Scholarships issued after enrollment

International student admissions promotion program(Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students)

This is a system implemented with the cooperation and collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and Japan Student Service Organization to provide subsidy for international students with private expense.
Scholarship: 48,000 yen is given every month in the second year (for 1 year).

* Reservation system (students with exceptional grades on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students)
This system sets aside scholarship allotments for students with exceptional grades on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
Scholarship: Monthly scholarship of 48,000 yen during first year

* Reservation system (recommendation) Pre-arrival enrollment permission system scholarship loan
Under this system, TOHO GAKUEN issues scholarship recommendations for students who, in their own country, take the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), directly submit an application to TOHO GAKUEN, take the entrance examination, and are accepted for enrollment.
Scholarship: Monthly scholarship of 48,000 yen during first year

Kyoritsu International Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship: 100,000 yen per month for 2 years

Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. Scholarship Fund Scholarship

The Kyoritsu International Foundation uses the two systems above to provide scholarships to international students from Asian countries. Applications are accepted for students enrolled in or planning to enroll in the educational institutions specified for the system, including TOHO GAKUEN. Application is performed via TOHO GAKUEN (international students cannot apply directly). Students who are selected as recipients can receive one of the two scholarships. Scholarship: 60,000 yen per month for 1 year

Shinjuku Ward Scholarship for Privately Financed Foreign Students

Under this system, Shinjuku Ward provides academic scholarships for privately-financed foreign students in need of financial assistance who are enrolled in institutions of higher learning in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward, live in Shinjuku Ward, have strong academic and personal qualities, and intend to continue their international study.
Scholarship: 240,000 yen for the duration of the second year
* For international students enrolled in the TOHO GAKUEN Film Techniques Training College.

TOHO GAKUEN scholarship system

System whereby financially handicapped students are exempted from tuition during the time they are enrolled. Acceptance is decided by submitted documents and interview results from the applicant.
Scholarship: Amount equal to half period class fee of 2nd year

TOHOKAI "Dream Support" scholarship system

The TOHOKAI alumni association offers non-loan scholarships. Scholarships are provided to students who can contribute to advancement of society and TOHOKAI after graduation through their day-to-day efforts both inside and outside school aimed at making their "future dream" job a reality. Scholarship recipients are decided based on submitted documents and an interview.
Scholarship: 200,000 yen in 2nd year

TOHO GAKUEN special educational scholarship system

System whereby scholarship equal to second semester tuition is provided to student who understands TOHO GAKUEN's educational policy, has studied hard, and has been selected because of superior results for the year and has exhibited stand out qualities.
Scholarship: Amount equal to second semester tuition
