Training Staff to Be the Brains of the TV Industry!

The department trains students to be TV directors, TV scriptwriters, and managers who support TV personalities behind the scenes. In addition to listening to lectures given by currently active TV producers, directors, and managers, students learn how to produce real programs through program production practices that emphasize the importance of teamwork.

Training Students to Become Specialists in Camera Techniques and Editing

In training to become video technicians, such as TV cameramen and video editors, students not only learn the basics of shooting video but also polish skills in camera work and editing. This department offers students many opportunities to handle actual cameras and editing equipment so that they can grow accustomed to their tools of the trade. Students are able to acquire knowledge and skills through program production practice.

Learning about Concert, Stage, and TV Program Lighting

The most unique characteristic of this department is that it specializes in lighting. First-year students comprehensively learn about both concert/stage lighting and TV-related lighting. Second-year students study separate courses on specialized lighting. Also, there is practical training in which students participate as staff members in live shows, such as Summer Sonic.

Training Personnel to Work as Art Design Staff

This department cultivates various art staff: art designers, stage setting staff, props setting staff, and wardrobe technicians. In the TV art class, students get to practice on the front lines under the guidance of professionals. Knowledge and expertise are acquired by doing actual work at real shooting locations and work sites. In classes related to wardrobe techniques, students learn everything from clothes design to sewing.

Studying Sound for Radio, Animation, TV, etc., Comprehensively

he department fosters specialists involved with sound in radio, animation, TV, etc. In classes related to radio, students learn the production process of radio programs that are actually broadcast. In classes related to animation audio, students learn about the composition of sound while mixing in voice-overs for animation. In classes related to TV sound, students not only experience recording sounds on site but also learn about the production process and how to choose sound effects.
